  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, External Trade and Co-operation is responsible for the formulation of Luxembourg's development cooperation policy.

LUX-DEVELOPMENT is the development cooperation agency implementing most of Luxembourg's bilateral projects, certain emergency interventions and food aid. It is an autonomous private limited company whose capital is partly owned by the State (61%), professional associations, consultancy firms, banks, and industry.

  LUX-DEVELOPMENT supports ten target countries: Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, El Salvador, Lao People`s Democratic Republic, Mali, Namibia, Nicaragua, Niger, Senegal, Viet Nam. Other supported countries are Albania, Burundi, Chile, Mauritius, Morocco, Rwanda, South Africa, Tunisia.

  LUX-DEVELOPMENT's main goals are poverty reduction and sustainable development.

  The agency concentrates on the following priority sectors: health, education, water and sanitation, rural development, environment and the social sector.
