Delegation from Céreq at UNESCO-UNEVOC

UNESCO-UNEVOC welcomed Mr Alberto Lopez, Director, and Mr Matteo Sgarzi, Head of the International Relations Mission of the French Centre d’Etudes et des Recherches sur les Qualifications (Céreq) to its premises on 21 January 2015. This visit was facilitated by Ms Birgit Thomann, Head of Department of Internationalization of VET and Knowledge Management of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).

The meeting was an opportunity for an exploratory discussion between UNESCO-UNEVOC and Céreq. In his welcome remarks, Mr Shyamal Majumdar, Head of UNESCO-UNEVOC, discussed possibilities of collaboration with Céreq in particular with reference to UNESCO-UNEVOC’s thematic priorities, which are Youth and Skills, Greening TVET and ICT in TVET. This was followed by a presentation on UNESCO-UNEVOC online services.

Mr Alberto Lopez presented some aspects of the current work of Céreq, focusing on possible linkages in particular regarding youth transitions from school to work. The discussion also focused on possibilities for exchanging good practices in TVET through the UNEVOC Network and UNESCO-UNEVOC online services.
