Network and Research Intern (Europe, CIS, North America cluster)

The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Bonn is currently looking for an intern to assist the UNEVOC Network team.

The UNEVOC Network is an inclusive, global learning network of institutions and organizations involved in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in UNESCO’s Member States. It is made up of over 250 TVET institutions and organizations called UNEVOC Centres. The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre is the hub of the UNEVOC Network.

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Assistant, the intern shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Assist in:

  • Conducting desk research to update information related to member institutions of the UNEVOC Network;
  • Drafting research papers, promotional materials and other documents on TVET related topics, if required;
  • Reviewing and improving the archiving system of the UNEVOC Network;
  • Preparing UNEVOC activities such as seminars, workshops and conferences, in close cooperation with European UNESCO UNEVOC partners;
  • Editing and reviewing web-news regarding the UNEVOC Network;
  • any other task assigned;
Qualification and experience:

  • Advanced stage of university studies (at Master level) in a relevant discipline, e.g. occupational pedagogics, international TVET, international relations, political science and etc.;
  • Interest in the field of international education and/or TVET;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is compulsory, knowledge of French, Russian or Spanish is an asset;
  • Good communication skills, research and analytical skills and eagerness to learn;
  • Ability to pay attention to detail;
  • Commitment to work in a multi-cultural team;
Required Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills including the use of standard software office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and internet browsers;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently;
  • Very good communication and organization skills.
Candidates must be enrolled at university at master level.

Duration of the internship: 3 to 6 months

Closing date of applications: 31 December 2016

Preferred starting date: 01 February 2017

The Centre does not provide remuneration for internships.
