Colombo, Sri Lanka, 24th July, 2015

This report provides an analysis of data for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector trainees and trainers concerning the sexual and reproductive health knowledge and behaviors. Survey data were collected and compiled by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commissions and analyzed into a single reference report that makes this information more easily accessible to policy makers, researchers, and program providers who are working to improve the reproductive health of young persons in Sri Lanka. This is the first survey of this kind conducted in Sri Lanka TVET sector and appropriate recommendations were highlighted in the report according to the findings of the survey.

The analysis was done with objectives such that to assess knowledge, behaviors with respect to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) among trainees and teaching skills on SRH among relevant staff in the ministry and its institutions. UNFPA funded the project and technical support was given by the Ministry of Health.
