KIST offers a four year full-time degree courses in Engineering Applied sciences and Architecture. In addition, KIST offers one year Technician certificates in ICT and two years diploma in ICT, and many other short course training programmes in ICT. In addition KIST offers Masters programmes in ICT and transportation/highway engineering. KIST students spend at least ten weeks doing industrial attachment during their third year. They also do a four week community attachment, where they are involved in various community development activities. KIST has a Centre of Innovation and Technology Transfer centre, whose central role has been to disseminate the various appropriate technologies in energy, low cost housing, food harvesting and preservation, irrigation, rural transportation, etc. The centre gives training in various skills related to the technologies disseminated. It also now hosts a Technology and Business Incubation Facility, where young graduates are assisted to start small and medium businesses.
