Uta Roth

Programme Expert


Uta joined UNESCO-UNEVOC in June 2013 as a loaned expert from the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in Bonn. She supports UNESCO-UNEVOC’s work in the field of knowledge management to enhance collaboration between the UNEVOC centres worldwide in particular with reference to the further development of UNEVOC’s online services.

Prior to joining UNESCO-UNEVOC, at the BIBB, she was responsible for the project "relaunch of the BIBB web site" and built up a knowledge management system for German TVET researchers. Furthermore, she gained several years of experience in the field by working for a reinsurance company and an IT company.

She studied Computational Linguistics and Roman Languages at the Universities of Trier (Germany), Tours (France) and Murcia (Spain) (M.A. at the University of Trier) and holds a PhD in Language Acquisition and Learning (with the focus on German as a foreign language and e-learning) from the University of Hamburg (Germany).
