UNESCO-UNEVOC is looking for volunteers

Within the Framework of UNESCO’s work in strengthening capacities of the UNEVOC Network in Member States, UNESCO-UNEVOC will conduct a global forum entitled ‘Skills for Work and Life Post-2015’ to be held in Bonn from 14 to 16 October 2014 on the UN Campus, and a UNEVOC Network meeting on 17 October 2014.

We are expecting over 250 participants from all regions in the world, representatives from TVET institutions, ministries, the industries, NGOs and several UN agencies.

UNESCO-UNEVOC is looking for individuals to support the global forum in a practical way. We are looking for volunteers to provide assistance to UNESCO-UNEVOC starting one week before the global forum, from 6 October 2014 until 17 October 2014.

The volunteers shall assist in the overall organization of the UNESCO-UNEVOC global forum by, inter alia:

  • Assist in translation for participants: shadow participants and assist in translations during the sessions;
  • Backstop the organization of sessions;
  • Support the rapporteurs of sessions with taking notes, collecting information, materials, presentations etc.;
  • Ensure that all speakers, guests and participants find the right rooms, provide overall conference support to them;
  • Provide other logistical support during the conference;
  • Assist in collecting media content;
  • Assist in any other task as assigned by UNEVOC staff.
A formal volunteer agreement will be signed between the volunteer and UNESCO-UNEVOC.

The volunteer will receive a certificate after the completion of tasks.

UNESCO-UNEVOC does not provide remuneration to the volunteers.

Eligibility:
The volunteer has to:

  • be at least 20 years old
  • be fluent in English and speak either Arabic, French and/or Spanish
  • have a strong interest in education, specifically TVET (technical and vocational education and training)
  • enjoy to work in a multicultural environment
