National Meeting for TVET in China


Within the framework of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Joint Innovative Project (JIP) scheme on TVET in China, a National Meeting for TVET in China took place in Beijing on 28-30 November 2006. The 35 experts from the Ministry of Education (MoE), UNEVOC Centres and other TVET institutions

  • shared experiences and practices in JIP implementation,
  • discussed and planned programme activities for 2007, and
  • explored further inter-institutional cooperation within the JIP.
Mr Du Yue, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and Ms Fan Wei, Director of the Division of Higher Vocational Education, Department of Higher Education, MoE, addressed the opening session.

In the course of the meeting, two keynote presentations were given:

  • Mr Zhu, Department of Higher Education, MoE on The Status-quo of Higher Education Reform, Future Orientations and Assessment/Evaluation on Teaching and
  • Ms Fan Wei on Higher TVET in China
New UNEVOC Centres introduced themselves to the other participants.
